Afterworker today, getting to beach long after Francis had bailed, and just as VFW Mark was packing up.
Mark tells me he's just had the best afternoon for absolutely ages .. thanks mate ... then tells me he was on his 105 with 6.5m and wished he'd been on 5.7m,
So, with it looking light on the inside and windier further out, I went for the Hawk 123 & 5.9m Duke combo.
Perfect, plenty of float to get out, and fast one in the wind.
I actually wished I'd gone 6.4m as I reckon I'd have been planing right off the beach and I wasn't overpowered out the back at all on the 5.9m so could have just gone faster.
Wind started to switch a little offshore and the windline seemed to get further offshore so called it a night after a decent hour.
Looks like the Hawk will be seeing plenty of use at this rate. Just want to try it with the 6.4m as I think this will be it's prime combo ....
Wonder what tomorrow will bring ....
